The Chinese yuan's recent depreciation against the U.S dollar and euro has affected trade. But it has had a limited impact on outbound tourism.

Tourism companies won't see much short-term impact on their outbound package prices because of the decreasing yuan. Experts say that's because air tickets, hotels and local transportation are booked in advance. The current depreciation of the yuan will only show its effects after May.

"This is not saying we won't raise our prices in the second half of this year. But it's mainly a seasonal factor. For example, our prices in July and August will rise because of peak season. Flight, hotel and local receptions will go up in peak time." Lu Bei, Senior Executive, C-Trip.com said.

Major travel companies say that tours to Europe will see only mild price increases.

"The yuan dropped about 7% against the euro, but European tours won't change much as of now. We expect a 5 percent rise in prices in the third quarter and U.S. travel costs won't change much." Zhang Wuan, Spokesperson, Spring Tour said.

Airlines, however, have been heavily impacted as the U.S. dollar goes up in value. The biggest part of airlines' debts come from jet purchases settled in the greenback.
