China's first policy document for 2014 has been drawn up, with food safety named the top priority for the economy, financial information portal aastocks.com reported Wednesday.

The policy document, also known as the "No.1 central document," will be centered on the topics including ensuring food safety and farmers' income rises, supporting the development of family farming, and fostering the sustainable development of the agriculture sector, said the report.

The No.1 central document was usua-l-ly jointly issued by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council in January or February, and focused on rural issues for a decade since 2004.
