China's Internet users lost around 149.15 billion yuan ($24.64 billion) through online activities in 2013, Xinhua Daily Telegraph reported Thursday, citing a survey result.

The loss was mainly caused by online shopping, with mobile phone users facing higher risks than PC and laptop users, said the survey released by the Internet Society of China.

About 54.8 percent of respondents lost less than 100 yuan last year, while another 13.4 percent of them lost more than 600 yuan during the same period, the survey showed.
