Air France-KLM plans to increase A380 flights from Shanghai to Paris next year.

"Our current three flights a week service, which use A380 aircraft, are full and cannot meet growing demand," said Diederik Scheepstra, regional manager of Air France-KLM Shanghai & East China, on Thursday.

The airline applied to Chinese aviation authorities for a fourth flight from Shanghai to Paris. "We are waiting for approval," said Scheepstra.

Starting Jan 6, KLM will install its new world business class on flights from Amsterdam to Shanghai.

The new business class will include a "full-flat" seat. This will be fully reclinable and can be transformed into a bed during the flight.

"It is our strategy to attract more business travelers to Amsterdam," he said.

KLM will operate 12 flights on the route from Amsterdam to Shanghai in the summer. In the winter, it has 10.

"Our purpose is to operate two flights per day, but it depends on our performance," he said.
