IQIYI, a subsidiary of Baidu Inc, owner of the largest search engine in China, announced its investment and marketing plans for 2014 at a press conference in Beijing on Thursday.

The company's iqiyi.com portal is China's first online video platform to focus on fully licensed, high-definition and professionally produced content.

Since its merger with PPS in May, it has become China's largest online video platform.

At the press conference, Gong Yu, CEO of iQIYI, said the company will focus on three areas for investment in 2014: producing its own video content; sourcing comprehensive copyrighted content; and sourcing user generated content.

The company has also announced its plan to explore and utilize cutting-edge advertising technology to help advertisers reach their goals using the SWS (search-watch-share) model.

The company's mobile terminal traffic exceeded its PC terminal traffic on Sept 2.

"It is an iconic moment in the industry. Mobile terminal traffic exceeding PC terminal traffic will be the future trend for our industry," Gong said.
