Hong Kong foreign currency reserve assets amounted to 309.6 billion U.S. dollars at the end of October, up from 303.5 billion U.S. dollars in September, the city's Monetary Authority announced Thursday.

The foreign currency reserve assets represent over seven times the currency in circulation, or about 50 percent of Hong Kong dollar M3.

There were no unsettled foreign exchange contracts at the end of October, nor the end of September.
