An entrepreneurs' conference and a matching seminar for the development fund between China and the Portuguese-speaking countries was launched Wednesday.

As part of the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, the conference and the seminar provided a platform for the discussions about infrastructure, agriculture, manufacturing, energy and natural resources, and the Cooperation and Development Fund between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.

A supplement agreement on the cooperation between trade promotional organizations and chambers of commerce was also signed by representatives of China and Portuguese-speaking countries at Wednesday's event.

Chairman of China Development Bank and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Wan Jifei said at the event that the discussion mechanism has been included in the forum's action plan on economic and trade cooperation, which he believed can enhance the exchange and communication between government and enterprises of China and Portuguese-speaking countries.

Speaking at the event, Vice Minister of Commerce Gao Yan suggested that members of the forum work together to broaden bilateral trade and investment, create a favorable trade environment, strengthen China-Portuguese projects and take full advantage of Macao as a platform, so as to enhance cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.

The Fourth Ministerial Conference of the forum, which was held on Nov. 4-6 in Macao, aimed to further bilateral talks and boost joint development of China and Portuguese-speaking countries.
