Sohu tentative on Sogou buy

Sohu.com Inc, one of China's largest Internet firms, said that the company has yet to reach a decision about Qihoo 360 Technology Co's potential takeover of Sohu's search engine sogou.com, news portal qq.com reported Saturday.

Yu Chuyuan, CFO of Sohu, was quoted by qq.com as saying that the company has not yet made any determinations about a specific strategic partner, transaction or action related to Sogou.

Sohu said the company has been exploring options for Sogou and continues to hold preliminary talks with several potential investors and partners.

According to a Reuters report on Friday, Qihoo 360, a leading Internet security company in China, was in discussions with Sohu about buying Sogou.
