As China's global push gains pace, demand for foreign experts is growing. The hunt is on to attract highly skilled international professionals, in both SOE's and private business.

A battle for the brightest minds is unfolding between China and other fast-growing countries around the world. People like Ted Tokuchi, who's trilingual and has vast experience in the financial industry, is one example. He thinks managers are especially important for companies expanding their operations in overseas countries.

"For a company seeking long-term development, people with management skills are desperately needed. I think good managers in overseas countries who understand the local market are critical. " Ted Tokuchi, Head of Inv't Banking Committee of CITIC Securities.

But people like Mr Tokuchi are in high demand in other countries too. What is it that sets China apart?

"The attraction of China today is it is the only part of major economies in the world that is growing. Europe is very sick. It's an extremely good time to think of coming to China, and learn about China." Alistair Michie, Group Business &Gov't Advisor of Newland Int'l Communications Group said.

On average, the Chinese government welcomes over 500 thousand foreign experts every year.

"Private firms as well as state owned enterprises will want these high-level talents. The areas of science and research, high technology, education, and financial services, are some of the hot industries in need of foreign experts." Chen Huabei, Director of Info. Research Centre of Int'l Talent, SAFEA said.

"In order to stand out in the global competition, Chinese government and companies have started to focus more on a better China experience, in an attempt to attract the talents the country desperately needs."
