Restriction of rosewood imports took effect Wednesday, resulting in a surge in the price of rosewood timbers, Xinhua reported Wednesday.
Trades of some kinds of rosewood are banned, while some need import and export certificates because they are listed under Appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, the report said.
