China CNR Corporation Limited, one of the country's biggest train manufacturers, announced on Wednesday it has completed the delivery of 12 high-powered electric locomotives to Belarus, the first such export to Europe.

With capacity of 9,600 KW, the locomotive is able to transport freight trains carrying oil, coal, wood and food supplies of up to 10,000 tons.

The delivery was done in four batches from October 2012 with the last installment, manufactured by CNR Datong Electric Locomotive Company Limited, arriving in Belarus on June 2.

The locomotives, which are already in use, have increased the capacity of Belarusian Railways and reduced operating costs, according to Belarusian Railways.

CNR was created following a reorganization of the China Northern Locomotive and Rolling Stock Industry (Group) in June 2008. Its products are used in more than 40 countries and regions.
