Courier incomes rise

The State Post Bureau said Friday that the income of express couriers reached 60.5 billion yuan ($9.83 billion) in the first quarter this year, up 21.7 percent compared with one year earlier.

Private couriers' income reached 17.6 billion yuan, a growth of 48.6 percent over last year and a higher growth rate than State-owned or foreign express firms. Meanwhile, the market share of private companies continued to rise to 61.9 percent, up 7.1 percentage points over the same period last year.
