Lifan Motors, a Chinese auto company, has awarded Lifan model 620 automobile to Sewunet Bishaw, the coach of Ethiopian National soccer team.

In a ceremony held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia's capital on Thursday, Tian Jie, Deputy General Manager of Lifan Ethiopia, handed over the key and the car to the coach who was successful to take Ethiopia's national football club to the 2013 African Cup of Nations after 31 years.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy General Manager noted that the Lifan's award to the coach is a price for his endeavor to get the soccer team's tour to the African Cup of Nations held in South Africa in January. Tian also noted that it is part of Lifan' s contribution of social responsibility to the Ethiopian society.

Recalling that the company had provided support to students from low income families with learning materials among others, the Deputy GM stated that Lifan would continue such activities of social responsibility here in the country.

"This moment I am very happy to transfer the car to you," said Tian.

Sewunet expressed his happiness and thanked Lifan Company for the award.

"This time I am very, very happy and I thank Lifan Company and the Ethiopian Football Federation. I am very happy to be one of members of Lifan Company," said the coach.

The coach was also given Lifan VIP customer card with which he gets services for his car at the company with discount at any time when required.

On the occasion, Bineyam Mengesha, Head of Research and Development Lifan Ethiopia, stated that Lifan Auto Company has been assembling and providing to the Ethiopian market seven models in its branches, Mekelle, Awassa, Dire Dawa, and Bahir Dar.

Bineyam, who is also Branch Manager of the company, added that the company has a plan to bring and assemble more other models for the Ethiopian market.
