China's State Grid Corp, the country's largest power distributor, will invest over 300 billion yuan ($48 billion) in power grid construction in 2013, of which around 52 billion yuan will be allocated to the construction of ultra-high voltage (UHV) transmission lines, the company said in a statement released Thursday.

Total investment in power grid construction in 2013 will remain the same as in 2012.

However, investment in UHV transmission lines is doubling. Seven UHV transmission lines are in the pipeline for construction this year.
