Logistics business tops $28 trillion

A total of 177.3 trillion yuan ($28.4 trillion) worth of goods were transported in 2012 by logistics companies in China, up by 9.8 percent year-on-year, the NDRC said Monday.

Logistics costs were still relatively high, reaching 9.4 trillion yuan in 2012, up by 11.4 percent year-on-year.

The ratio of logistics costs to GDP rose last year to 18 percent, 0.2 percentage points higher than in 2011.
