Baidu Inc, China's largest search engine, has responded to users' privacy invasion allegations made by Qihoo 360 Technologies Co, a leading online security software developer, Caijing magazine reported Tuesday.

Qihoo, which entered the search engine market in August 2012, said over the weekend that rival Baidu had forced users to switch browsers through a pop-up window that appeared when Qihoo users searched for Baidu-related services. Qihoo said Baidu accessed user information and took screenshots of users' computers to block Qihoo browsers.

Baidu responded that the browser switch request was intended to protect users' personal information.
