All four Taiwan makers of LCD display screens have pledged to adhere to Chinese Mainland laws and act in the best interests of its customers. They've made statements acknowledging the fines.

China fined South Korean and Taiwan makers of LCD display screens 56 million US dollars for price-fixing. The six LCD panel producers include Samsung and LG from South Korea, and Chi Mei and AU Optronics from Taiwan.

The National Development and Reform Commission said the investigation started 6 years ago when it received reports accusing these LCD panel makers of monopolistic behaviour.

Investigation results show that envoys from the six companies met every quarter from 2001 to 2006 to set the market prices of screens.
