ZTE unveils latest Android smartphone in Indonesia

ZTE, a China-based global information and communications technology solutions provider, unveiled its latest Grand X Android smartphone here Wednesday, in a bid to further enhance its commitment to Indonesian customers.

ZTE Grand X, running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, comes with a 4. 3-inch sharp 256 ppi pixel density display and is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor. It supports the dual SIM feature and provides better performance with 5 megapixel camera.

"The launch of Grand X with Jelly Bean is important for Indonesia and ZTE, and it shows the commitment of ZTE's R&D and manufacturing in the country," said Susanto Sosilo, director of ZTE Indonesia's Terminal Division.

It is the world's first ever commercial launch of a ZTE Jelly Bean-based smartphone, he added.

Mei Zhonghua, president director for ZTE Indonesia, told Xinhua that the Indonesian market is very important for ZTE as Indonesia is the world's fourth most populous nation with a huge group of consumers.

"ZTE commits to producing smartphone with a high performance to price ratio for Indonesian customers, and this is the foundation for ZTE to access the Indonesian market," Mei said.

ZTE is a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions headquartered in China's Shenzhen City. The company shipped 7.5 million smartphones in the third quarter of 2012, according to IDC's Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker.
