In the border region between China and Russia, and more precisely, to Heihe, a border city in China's Heilongjiang Province, just opposite the city of Blagoveshchensk in Russia's Amur Oblast.

At a recent trade fair there, a total of 100 contracts were signed worth 2.5 billion U.S. dollars. Among the deals sealed is a new high tech industrial park.

A business representative from Suifenhe, a county in Heilongjiang Province, has come to the trade fair to grab some lucrative opportunities.

He sealed a total of 14 contracts worth 650 million U.S dollars, far more than he expected.

Together with his Russian counterpart, he is also planning to build a new crown jewel. A far-east high-tech industrial park project between his home town and Russia.

Gong Jianbo, representative of Suifenhe Bureau of Commerce, said, "The industrial park will gather civil technologies, or high-tech light industries, to satisfy demand in Russia. "

The Russian side is echoing the move.

Andrew, project manger of Far-East Sino-Russian Coop. Industrial Park, said, "We hope Chinese firms will be able to manufacture products in Russia, this can solve many problems including tariffs, and make it easier for their distribution, sales and marketing in every corner of Russia."

The event is the largest trade fair between the two countries since Russia joined the WTO earlier this year. Overall, more than 100 contracts were signed, with a total value of about 2.5 billion U.S dollars. Officials from both sides have also agreed to set up a scheme for information sharing.
