Gui Minjie, the chairman of the Shanghai Stock Exchange, says it plans to speed up its internationalization process by strengthening cooperation with Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Investment products co-developed by the two, such as cross-border Exchange Traded Fund, have already been welcomed by investors, Gui told a press conference on the sidelines of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China on Sunday.

In September, the Shanghai, Hong Kong and Shenzhen exchanges established a joint venture to offer financial products and services.

The three have also agreed to launch a comprehensive index by the end of this year, to reflect share prices on all three markets.
