JDB files to relocate infringement trial

JDB Group, a Hong Kong-based tea maker, has filed to move the venue of the trial between it and Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Holdings to a place other than Beijing and Guangdong Thursday, citing possible interference from the local governments.

In July, JDB submitted a lawsuit to the Beijing No. 1 Intermediate People's Court against Guangzhou Pharmaceutical, claiming it had infringed on the design of JDB's red-canned tea package. Meanwhile, Guangzhou Pharmaceutical filed a suit to the Guangdong Intermediate People's Court, alleging JDB had copied the design of its Wong Lo Kat tea box.
