Nearly 200 stalls of 138 companies and manufactures from China's eastern Zhejiang province showcased their export products at the 2012 Zhejiang Export Fair which kicked off here on Wednesday.

Organized by the VietNam National Trade Fair and Advertising Company (Vinexad), the fair focuses on displaying Zhejiang's potential industries of machinery, electronics, construction and interior decoration materials, textiles and garments.

Besides showcasing export products, Zhejiang firms also aim at researching and investigating Vietnam's market, according to organizers.

The 2012 Zhejiang Export Fair with the participation of the province's textiles and garments firms will be a good opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to seek material sources with high quality and competitive prices, said organizers.

According to Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade, in 2011, the trade volume between China's Zhejiang province and Vietnam reached over 2.8 billion U.S. dollars. As of December 2011, Vietnam has invested in 23 projects in Zhejiang with a total investment of 22 million U.S. dollars, focusing on textiles, garments, and chemical manufacturing.

Zhejiang province currently has 153 enterprises investing in Vietnam with a total investment of 390 million U.S. dollars, primarily in fields of textiles, garments, industrial machinery and light industry.

The fair is scheduled to last through May 18.
