Li Ning, an environmentalist and former Olympic gymnastics champion, says: "Yan's works create a dreamland, where we can see the harmonious coexistence of birds and humans in times gone by. As an artist, Yan creates a quiet world that immerses the viewers in the beauty of nature and inspires them to protect nature."

And when her relatives and friends in Russia saw her paintings, they said Natasha has brought the birds from paradise back to the human world.

"I use oil painting as a special language to communicate with the world, in the hope that the people will join hands to protect not only the birds but also the whole range of fauna," Yan says. "Because each one counts."
