French slackline walkers in China for a competition found the real challenge up a 170 meter cliff - playing mahjong with four middle-aged ladies.
Nathan Paulin and Guillaume Barrande took runners-up in the "2017 International Highline Challenge" at Shimenguan Geopark in Dali, Yunnan Province on Saturday.
But more surprising to locals is they crushed a quartet of local mahjongers in the area's first International Mahjong Challenge the following day, local media reported.
The games took place high up on the geopark's glass skywalk, 170 meters above the ground.
But the slackliners showed they weren't afraid of heights.
After two preliminary rounds, Paulin and Barrande edged out two local challengers to move to the semis.
Though Barrande pulled ahead early, but it was Paulin who ended up taking first.
An extreme sport growing in popularity, slacklining involves balancing on a centimeters' wide strap stretched high above the ground between two points.
Paulin made history with Barrande and Pablo Signoret after they crossed 1,662 meters at 340 meters above a valley in France on June 9.
Signoret came in first at the slackline competition Saturday.
