Starting from Dec. 11, the entry and exit service centers in Chaoyang and Shunyi districts in Beijing expanded their service to include four types of residence permits (work, study, reunion, and personal matters), four types of permanent residence permits (special contribution, investment, resident occupation, and family reunion), and replacement or reissue of permanent residence cards.

Chaoyang and Shunyi districts are dense in foreign population. Around 70 percent of regional headquarters of transnational companies in Beijing are located in Chaoyang District, which has gathered 57.7 percent of foreigners and Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan residents in Beijing. More than 30 Fortune Global 500 companies and over 100 transnational corporations are registered in Shunyi District, which has a foreign population of 8,000.

In May, the Entry and Exit Administration Bureau of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau set up service centers in Chaoyang and Shunyi sub-bureaus and empowered them to process entry and exit applications from foreigners.

To date, the two service centers are well equipped in hardware as well as manpower, and are capable to expand their services and facilitate exchanges of foreign talents. Now, foreign applicants could make use of the online appointment system to file application and collect their residence permit after seven business days.
