Xi writes to congratulate opening of World Internet Conference
Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the Fourth World Internet Conference, which opened Sunday in east China's watertown of Wuzhen.
The conference from Sunday to Tuesday is themed on "Developing digital economy for openness and shared benefits -- building a community of common future in cyberspace."
Self-driving bus goes on world's first trial run on public road
China began testing the self-driving bus technology on a public road in Shenzhen Saturday.
Four Alphabus smart buses made the inaugural trial run on a route of 1.2 kilometers in the bonded zone of Futian. They ran at 10-30 km per hour and halted at three stops during the test.
Chinese group tours to S Korea restart after 8-month suspension
A group of 32 Chinese tourists departed Beijing Capital International Airport for South Korea on Saturday, after an eight-month group travel suspension ended, Chinanews.com reported.
The group, the first tourist group from the Chinese mainland, acquired their group visa on November 30, 2017, and began a five-day sightseeing trip based in Seoul after landing at Incheon International Airport.
Sick panda remains in critical condition
The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in Sichuan province has been treating a sick panda found in the woodhouse of a village official in the province's Hongya county since Thursday evening.
The female panda aged between 16 and 20 is still not out of danger, according to Pu Anning, chief of the base's general office.
