Rare white quadruplet tiger cubs made their first public appearance on Thursday in the city of Lianyungang, east China's Jiangsu Province.

It's their first time seeing the outside world. The white tiger, also known as "albino Bengal tiger," is a varietal species of Bengal tigers. There are currently less than 200 white tigers in the world, mainly from the U.S., India, UK and China.

Because the white coating eventually loses its natural protection, they can't survive in the wild, so almost all white tigers are in captivity.
