Hong Kong Customs seized about 6.7 kg of suspected cocaine at Hong Kong International Airport on Oct. 21 and Oct. 23 with an estimated market value of about 5.96 million HK dollars (about 766,000 U.S. dollars), it said here Tuesday.

Customs officers inspected an air mail parcel from Peru on Oct. 21 and found about 5.2 kg of suspected cocaine mixed in with 10 candles, and arrested an 18-year-old man suspected to be related to the case on Monday.

Meanwhile, a 27-year-old male passenger arrived in Hong Kong from Doha, Qatar, Monday afternoon. Upon examination, Customs officers seized about 1.5 kg of suspected cocaine from the metal frame and wheels of his two pieces of check-in baggage. The man was arrested.

The two cases are under investigation.
