Those of you who were thinking of using the new calorie counter of Google Maps to lose weight will need to switch to a new tool because the company is taking your "cupcake" away.

The experimental iOS feature, which began rolling out to some users around a week ago, was removed on Tuesday, said the BBC.

The feature calculated how many calories users could burn by walking a route. Those calories were then converted into mini cupcakes. According to the app's counting, one pink cupcake was equivalent to 110 calories.

The search engine giant decided to remove the calorie counter "based on strong user feedback." Some people claimed that the feature could be damaging for people with eating disorders since it appeared every time users visited the web mapping service, TechCrunch website reported.

The accuracy of the app's calculation of calories has also been questioned.

The calorie counter didn't appear when CGTN Digital tried to test the service on Wednesday.

More about the Maps

Although the "cupcake" didn't work out, you will get the opportunity to explore space on Google Maps.

The California-based service announced on Monday that it has added 12 planets and moons to allow users to navigate the universe at home.

Google Maps partnered with NASA and the European Space Agency to generate new detailed maps of Venus, Pluto and many of Saturn's moons.
