China's self-developed C919 jet has taken off for its second test flight, 146 days after the plane made its maiden voyage, the Commercial Aircraft Corp of China (COMAC) said on Thursday.

The jet took off from Shanghai Pudong International Airport at around 07:20 a.m. BJT on Thursday. It planned to fly to Nantong via Chongming. After a more than three-hour-long flight, it is expected to return to the Pudong Airport at noon.

In comparison, its maiden flight on May 5 was 80 minutes long.
