Traffic accidents and compensation cases in China can be as complex and layered as, well, an onion. That's why a produce seller in Jinan, Shandong Province was expecting the worst when, while driving his three-wheel motorbike, he scratched up a Bentley.
But when the owner told him to forget about it, the elderly vendor was so overjoyed that he made sure to show his gratitude by throwing some fresh green onions through the window, Jinan traffic police posted Monday on Sina Weibo.
The Bentley owner described on WeChat how he decided to drop the idea of compensation after the vendor said he was disabled.
But before the owner could drive away, the vendor made sure to leave him with something.
"He threw the onions through my window. They were covered in dirt and water," read the WeChat post.
