China on Monday called on all nations to cooperate on tackling global climate change.

Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi was speaking during a meeting with Patricia Espinosa, United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Executive Secretary.

Yang called on all countries to take action, since climate change concerns everyone, worldwide.

He said China hoped all nations would stick to the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities, take different domestic situations into consideration and speed up action by 2020.

Espinosa said the UNFCCC Secretariat expects more cooperation with China on climate change.
