Since June, Beijing has received 34.7 percent more precipitation than an annual 30 year average, the city's meteorological service said Wednesday.

Rain lasting from Tuesday to Wednesday morning brought an average 56 mm of precipitation to the Chinese capital, with one place in the northern district Miyun receiving the highest amount at 144.5 mm.

After the latest rain, the average precipitation since June has reached 476.2 mm, compared to the average of 353.5 mm in the three decades ending 2010.

To brace for the latest rain, authorities in Beijing evacuated 5,142 people and closed 115 scenic spots.

The weather for the next three days is forecast to be clear or cloudy, the meteorological service said.
