James Murdoch, CEO of 21st Century Fox, criticized U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday for his comments about the attack in Charlottesville of Virginia last week.

According to the Hollywood Report, which claimed to have obtained an email written by Murdoch to his friend, he took a clear stand against the president and pledged to donate 1 million U.S. dollars to the Anti-Defamation League, a leading U.S. civil rights organization dedicated to fighting anti-Semitism and all forms of hate.

"What we watched this last week in Charlottesville and the reaction to it by the President of the United States concern all of us as Americans and free people," Murdoch, son of conservative media mogul Rupert Murdoch, wrote in the note which was later posted online.

"I can't even believe I have to write this: standing up to Nazis is essential; there are no good Nazis."

Murdoch is the latest U.S. business leader to denounce Trump. Before his move, top executives from Merck, Under Armour, Intel, the Alliance for American Manufacturing and the AFL-CIO lined up leaving the president's two business councils after Trump's remarks blaming the violence in Charlottesville on "both sides," in contrary to the public opinion that the white supremacists were primarily responsible for the chaos.

Trump decided to dismantle the two consultant teams following the walkout of some members.

Fox News channel is widely regarded as a megaphone of the Republic Party, and Trump listed Fox News as one of his favorite news sources.
