A rainstorm has battered northeast China's Liaoning Province since Thursday, leaving three people dead and affecting the lives of nearly 570,000 people, the provincial flood control headquarters said Monday.

Seven cities including the port city of Dalian were affected by the storm. The three victims were killed in Xiuyan county in the city of Anshan.

A total of 188,000 local residents were relocated to safety.

The storm also left more than 1,000 homes collapsed and 66,400 hectares of cropland damaged.

Power supplies, traffic and communication in the province have been disrupted, according to the headquarters.

The losses caused by the storm are being verified.
