China expressed its position on Indian border guards crossing into its territory from the Indian state of Sikkim on Tuesday. The Chinese Foreign Ministry said Beijing will take all necessary measures to safeguard its legitimate rights and interests.

"China is committed to not only defending its territorial sovereignty but also safeguarding the basic principles of international law and the basic norms governing international relations and upholding justice and righteousness. The Chinese side is convinced that the right cannot be wronged and justice will prevail, " said Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang.
