A massive flood killed at least four people in Suide County in northwest China's Shaanxi Province.
According to the local flood control and drought relief office, the region was pounded by heavy downpours for several consecutive days leading to an extreme flooding, which caused a reservoir to burst.
The identity of the three victims has been confirmed.
The local government launched a grade-I emergency flood response and evacuated more than 59,000 people as of 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
More than 350 trapped residents have been rescued so far, though a rescue operation is still ongoing.
