The book demonstrates China's development theory and path, and internal and foreign policies, according to Tuo Zhen, deputy head of Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

"The publication of the Kazakh-language version of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China opens a new window to Kazakhstan people to understand more about China, and provides a new platform for both countries to communicate over issues about governance of our countries," Tuo said.

Chinese Ambassador to Kazakhstan Zhang Hanhui said the new edition offers the people of Kazakhstan a firsthand acquaintance with Xi's insights.

"Since the new book has been published before the visit of President Xi to Kazakhstan, we believe the two countries will enhance mutual trust and better strategic coordination," Zhang said.

Bachtitem Timurblatter, deputy director of the Kazakhstan Presidential Administration, said Kazakh readers will be able to better understand how Chinese people realize the Chinese Dream, and will learn about the determination of the Chinese government in the anti-corruption campaign.

The book contains 79 speeches, talks, interviews, notes and letters of the Chinese leader between November 2012 and June 2014.

More than 6.2 million copies have been distributed around the world.

The book event opens a series of activities on Sino-Kazakh cooperation ahead of Xi's visit. The China-Kazakhstan Media Dialogue, also on Monday, saw senior officials of mainstream media from both countries discuss the media's role in boosting ties between the countries.

Tuo said media from China and Kazakhstan played a significant role in enhancing Sino-Kazakh relations. Tuo encouraged media of both countries to provide more coverage of the Belt and Road Initiative and become witnesses to Sino-Kazakh friendship.
