Law enforcement authorities across China have busted 76 venues in a campaign against illegal entertainment businesses, the Ministry of Culture said Monday.

The ministry said it is concerned by illegal equipment and gambling activities in some venues.

The campaign's targets included game rooms that open without administrative approval or allow gambling. Business licenses of any that allowed gambling will be revoked, the ministry said.

An official with the ministry said the next step will be to expand inspection nationwide in a bid to standardize the market.

The ministry encourages the public to report illegal activities.
