Pakistan's largest province Punjab will cooperate on vocational education with north China's port city Tianjin.

Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority of Government of the Punjab Province signed two agreements Wednesday with Tianjin Modern Vocational Technology College and Tianjin University of Technology and Education.

According to the agreements, Punjab and Tianjin will cooperate in teacher training, syllabi, curricula, and an innovation center.

Punjab is the largest province and the economic center of Pakistan. Its GDP accounts for nearly 60 percent of the national total.

Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Chief Minister of Punjab, expressed his great expectations for the cooperation.

He said that Tianjin's industrialization and vocational education were excellent. "To cooperate with Tianjin will promote the prosperity of Punjab and improve the happiness for the people of Pakistan."

The population of Pakistan is young. People between the ages of 16 and 30 make up about 60 percent in the whole country. "The young people need to be trained to master some skills," he said

The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is raising living standards in Pakistan, he said.

He said that Pakistan suffered from low employment and outdated industry for a long time due to a lack of adequate power supply, but now power projects constructed by China already working have brought hope to the country.

"The friendship between Pakistan and China is higher than Himalayas and deeper than the deepest ocean. Our friendship is stronger than steel. Our friendship is sweeter than honey!" he said.
