The Brazilian 31-year-old striker Cristiane will leave from Paris Saint Germain to join in the Changchun women's soccer team, the Chinese club confirmed on Sunday.

Together with Cristiane moving to China is Cameroonian striker Madeleine Ngono Mani.

The Chinese club said in an official announcement that Cristiane who will become a member of Changchun in June after completing her contract with PSG, will become the highst-paid woman footballer in the world, but failed to disclose the details of the deal.

A statement released on Changchun's website said: "We are sure that Cristiane will bring us fantastic goals and victories in 2017."

As one of the most famous star footballers in the world, Cristiane has scored 86 goals in 127 appearances for Brazilian national team and was the top scorer in both the 2004 Athens and 2008 Beijing Olympics.

During the Rio Olympics, the Brazilian forward contributed a flying header, helping the hosts to seal a 3-0 victory over China in their first group match.

Changchun ranked third in the Chinese Women's Super League last year, hoping for a breakthrough in the new season.
