Over 100,000 daily passengers departed from or arrived at Pudong International Airport in just the past 10 days, according to the Shanghai Airport Immigration Inspection Station.
Since the annual Spring Festival travel rush started on January 13, a total of 370,000 outbound Chinese mainlanders have taken off from Pudong airport, accounting for 65 percent of all the passengers leaving on international flights.
The number of outbound Chinese mainlanders increased 18 percent from the same period last year, up 5 percent from before the Spring Festival rush.
Over 40,000 passengers arrived at Pudong airport daily, most of whom are Chinese living in other countries. The airport's inspection office reminded passengers qualified for self-help entry to select the service to save time.
