China's railway police have adopted measures this month to ensure safe journeys for travelers during the upcoming holiday travel rush.

Around 356 million railway trips are expected around Chinese New Year, between Jan. 13 and Feb. 21, 2017.

Rail police have targeted ticket scalping, with 230 scalpers arrested since Dec. 1, the railway authorities said Tuesday.

Local railway police have tighten security checks on travellers and equipment, and strengthened patrols at train stations and along the railway lines.
