La Nina conditions are likely to fade in the coming months, the U.S. National Weather Service's Climate Prediction Center said Thursday.

La Nina conditions were likely to transition back to neutral during January through March, Reuters quoted the center as saying.

La Nina is an ocean atmosphere phenomenon characterized by low sea temperatures across the equatorial eastern central Pacific, with tropical storms and heavy rainfall being more likely in Asia and Australia after a La Nina occurrence and North America experiencing drought.
