21 dead, one trapped in NE China coal mine blast

Twenty-one people had been confirmed dead and one was still trapped as of Friday night after a coal mine blast in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province on Tuesday, according to provincial authorities.

The explosion occurred at a private coal mine in Qitaihe City around 9 p.m. Tuesday, trapping 22 workers underground.

Rescue is underway.
