By the end of next month Shanghai is set to have its first theme park featuring topiary and agricultural products.
The Shanghai Agricultural Carnival is in the Shanghai International Tourism and Resorts Zone, where Shanghai Disneyland is located.
The announcement was made yesterday by the city's agricultural commission.
There are more than 45,000 square meters of gardens featuring topiary characters waiting to be explored and enjoyed, the authority said.
The agricultural carnival's total space is about 200,000 square meters.
Exhibition and performances introducing local agricultural culture and Chinese traditional practices such as shadow play will also be displayed in the park.
Visitors will be able to buy agricultural products from local cooperatives or nationwide firms in three themed pavilions in the park.
Meanwhile, people interested in rural life and customs along the Yangtze River Delta Area can sample local rural lifestyles, covering more than 80 agricultural tourist spots, at a four-day exhibition to be held tomorrow at the Shanghai Agricultural Exhibition Hall in Changning District.
