Visitors are once again allowed to drive their own cars to tour the Beijing Badaling Wildlife Park after one death and one serious injury as tourists exited their vehicle in the beasts area and were attacked by a Manchurian tiger in July.

The park was closed after the fatal accident until August 25, when tourists were allowed to enter the ferocious beasts area only by park bus

Since last week, except for the Manchurian tiger zone, the ferocious beasts area has also been open for self-driving tours.

An electric grid has been newly constructed along both sides of the roads throughout the whole area.

Besides, dozens of new notice boards have been set up, reminding drivers of safety and being aware of the electric grid, and forbidding visitors to get out of their cars during the tour.

On July 23, a woman broke the park's rule by getting out of her private car in the ferocious beasts area. She was dragged off by a Manchurian tiger and injured, but the woman's mother-in-law who ran to save her was ultimately killed.

The park said it's still in touch with the family and dealing with subsequent issues. The Manchurian tiger zone will open to the public after remaining issues were resolved, but a specific date has not been given.

The accident seems to have limited impact on the park.

An official from the park told the Beijing Morning Post that the numbers of visitors equals the figure of last year during this Mid-Autumn Festival that falls on Spet. 15.
