"This year marks the 80 anniversary of the victory of Long March, which attracts numerous visitors both at home and abroad to come and see. In the great history of Long March, Liping boasted a vital meeting here on December 18, 1934, namely, the Liping Conference," said Shi Guangzhao, deputy director of Liping's publicity department.
"Liping Conference marks the turning point of the great military revolutionary in China by independently choosing the route to the northern area in Guizhou, determining the destiny of CPC and the Red Army at large," Shi added.
"We don't rest on our laurels after the Liping Conference, we have taken many measures to carry on the spirit of Red Army in many ways. We have built a Liping Conference Memorial Hall. Also, A primary school near the address has been built with a Red Army Square in front of the school with an aim to make children sense the red culture atmosphere in their daily life."
In recent years, Liping government has issued several policies including the Announcements on Accelerating the Development of the Tourism Industry and Construction Scheme of Red Tourism in Liping County during the during the period of Twelfth Five Year Plan and put the red culture tourism on the top priority.
Meanwhile, under the new guidance of "Red Plus Green" and "Red Plus Blue", the government hopes to set red culture (Red) as a starting point to promote beautiful natural scenery (Green) and folk culture (Blue) in Liping.
