Director and actor Feng Xiaogang, who won Best Actor for his performance in Mr. Six at the China Film Director's Guild Award, is nominated once again for his titular role, alongside actors Deng Chao and Huang Bo.
Nominees of the 33rd Hundred Flowers Awards were announced in Beijing on Tuesday. It is one of Chinese film industry's highest honors and also one that is voted by the public.
Sci-Fi film Mojin: The Lost Legend; blockbuster hits Monster Hunt and Goodbye Mr. Loser; thriller The Dead End, which won Best Director and Best Actor at the 18th Shanghai International Film Festival in June; and action film Wolf Warriors were nominated for the Best Picture category.
Mr. Six' Guan Hu, Dearest's Peter Chan, Wolf Warriors' Wu Jing, Monsters Hunt's Raman Hui, and Mojin: The Lost Legend's Wu Ershan are vying for the title of Best Director.

The Best Actress' award sees Bai Baihe of Goodbye Mr. Tumor, Xu Qing of Mr. Six, Zhao Wei of Dearest and Yu Nan of Wolf Warriors are competing for the honor.
Yao Chen is nominated for Best actress in a supporting role.
"The Hundred Flowers Awards is judged by the audience. As a veteran actress I certainly want to be in the list. So I'm really happy and grateful to be nominated this year. It's a great recognition from the movie fans. I also want to congratulate my fellow nominees, who are all excellent actors," she said.
The 33rd Hundred Flowers Award ceremony will be held on Sept 24 in Tangshan, Hebei Province, as part of 25th Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival, which runs from Sept 21 to 24.
