More than 600 well-known entrepreneurs, academics and government officials gathered yesterday in Xi'an, the capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, to discuss the Belt and Road Initiative and economic globalization, which are seen as key to the development of Shaanxi and the national development strategy.

This year's Yabuli China Entrepreneurs Forum Summer Summit is scheduled to run from yesterday through tomorrow in the city which was designated as the capital of 13 ancient Chinese dynasties.

The theme of this year's summit is "the Chinese Economy in the Long History".

Tian Yuan, founder and chairman of the forum, said China is a rising economic power, but in the history of the world economy, it has long played an important role.

"By holding this summit, the forum hopes to remodel such great history and indicate the future of China's economy. We hope to reinvigorate the Chinese economy, which has experienced a temporarily lull, and eliminate doubts about short-term difficulties," Tian said.

Yabuli China Entrepreneurs Forum, founded in 2001, is one of the most influential Chinese business platforms for the exchange of ideas. It holds a summer summit every year in different Chinese cities. Last year's summit was held in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality.
